Possibly the most photographed tree in North Wales, the lone birch tree on the shore of Llyn Padarn in Llanberis is a classic landscape composition. Around September the rising sun emerges between the V of the distant valley and it was exactly that time of year that I made my camper van visit. The weather wasn't great and the outlook of a visible sunrise wasn't promising so it was important to come back with as many evening shots as I could. A very short break in the otherwise fully overcast sky allowed some sunset light to spill across the valley to the opposing hills.
